Family Practitioner – Secondment Opportunity / Temporary Fixed Term Contract

Family Practitioner | 9085 | Secondment Opportunity / Temporary Fixed Term Contract | Part‑time 18.5 hours per week | £34,434 to £36,363 pro rata per annum | Grade H | Norwich

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Family Help Practitioner to work in the Family Help Team covering the South Norwich area. The office base is at County Hall.

We are looking for an experienced practitioner who can manage a complex caseload of Family Help cases. We will be able to offer you a friendly and supportive working environment where learning and development are promoted through the support of an experienced management group.

Our purpose in Family Help is to keep children and young people safe through early intervention to prevent the need for statutory involvement. We do this working alongside the family, their network and other professionals naming and addressing worries, creating plans which identify the support needed to achieve positive outcomes and empower the family to effect change.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a complex caseload of Family Help cases.
  • Work alongside families, their network and other professionals to name and address worries.
  • Create plans that identify the support needed to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Identify and understand risk and keep this under review throughout the case.
  • Use initiative and skill set to manage workload and support the wider team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Prioritise, adapt practice and remain calm when under pressure.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children and families.
  • Good IT skills, proficiency in Word, Excel and database systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • High level of resilience and flexibility.
