About the Role:
As a Family Assistant, you’ll provide holistic family and educational guidance to promote wellbeing and inclusion for families from ethnically diverse backgrounds. You’ll work closely with schools, health providers, local authorities, and community organisations to help families settle and succeed in Norfolk.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Visiting families and completing Family Assessments and Plans to improve outcomes.
- Supporting welfare visits and signposting families to universal and specialist services.
- Working with interpreters and communication tools to overcome language barriers.
- Building strong relationships with multi-agency partners and community networks.
- Ensuring families maintain independence while respecting their culture and identity.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with migrant communities and managing a caseload of vulnerable families.
- Can motivate and engage families, lead multi-agency meetings, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Communicates effectively and demonstrates cultural sensitivity.
- Holds a relevant qualification (Degree or NVQ Level 4) and has at least two years’ experience working with children and families.
