Assistant Practitioner- Children with Disabilities | 10922 | Permanent Contract | Part-time 18.5 hours per week | £33,119 to £34,811 per annum, pro rata | Grade G | North, East (Norfolk) and Broadland – Based at County Hall, Norwich

We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to join our Children with Disabilities Service, supporting children and young people aged 0–18 with substantial and permanent disabilities.

Working alongside Social Workers and Occupational Therapists, you will deliver practical interventions to children and families in home and school settings, helping children overcome barriers and participate more successfully in everyday life.

Key Areas of Work

  • Communication support, including visual timetables, Core Boards and Social Stories
  • Behaviour management and positive behaviour strategies
  • Emotional regulation, including Zones of Regulation and Interoception
  • Routines, boundaries and personal space awareness
  • Life Story Work and network mapping
  • Support with Benefits and Blue Badge applications

You will:

  • Have experience working with children and young people with additional needs and/or disabilities
  • Be creative, adaptable and child-centred in your approach
  • Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Be willing to travel across the North, East and Broadland locality
