We have an exciting opportunity to join Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies joint ICT Department on a 2-year apprenticeship scheme. You will be able to study for professional qualifications, whilst also gaining hands‑on, task‑focussed experience in our busy and varied ICT Department. The joint ICT Department manages and delivers key ICT services across both counties.

The successful candidates will work across various ICT teams starting with our busy Service Desk, gaining experience and knowledge to support the department across a wide range of ICT services, including but not limited to:

  • Desktop & laptop hardware
  • ANPR
  • Body Worn Video
  • Command and Control systems
  • Critical and back‑office applications
  • Network and server services

Applications are invited for this apprenticeship scheme based at OCC, Wymondham although travel across both counties will be required as the responsibilities of the role are shared between both locations. This offers a great opportunity to see various Police premises and understand how ICT is an integral part of the Organisation.

It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria:

  • GCSE Maths and English Level 4 (or equivalent) to enrol on the Level 3 IT Solution Technician Apprenticeship
  • Good general computing skills and experience, i.e. ability to use and navigate Microsoft Office tools
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build good working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Effective administrative and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage documents and information
  • Able to work to tight deadlines when required

The post holder will be expected to travel across the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk.

It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:

  • GCSEs at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent) including computer studies and science

This post is offered as a 2-year apprenticeship. Full Time – 37 hours per week Monday to Friday (with the ability to work outside normal office hours when required). This role is category 2 under the Workforce Modernisation Programme.
