Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust and Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust are merging to form a new organisation on 1 April 2026. Both organisations are high performing, and the combination of the two Trusts will bring exciting opportunities for the continuing development of services to our patients. We are looking for a motivated and engaged person to help us with the financial aspects of the merger.
The role will include general ledger maintenance and management accounts work, and can be tailored to the experience of the successful applicant. We welcome part time applicants and those looking for flexible working arrangements.
Main duties of the job
- General ledger maintenance work - resolving differences arising from the merger of two financial ledgers, resolving items in balance sheet reconciliations, and maintaining the integrity of the Trust's merged financial systems.
- Management accounts work - management accounting and financial reporting for various areas of the organisation.
- Financial reporting - producing budgets, forecasts and performance reports.

With effect from 1 April 2026, Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trust will be merging with Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust to form a new organisation. The new Trust will provide a wide range of community health and social care services to over 4 million people, with a budget of circa £380 million and a workforce of over 7,000 people.

Qualifications
- AAT Technician Level 4 (full membership) or equivalent qualification or experience.
Experience
- Significant experience of working in a finance environment with detailed knowledge of reconciliations, double entry book-keeping, payables, receivables and financial systems.
- Experience dealing with complex accounting matters which require use of judgement.
Skills, knowledge and abilities
- Team player with an ability to work closely with others internal and external to the organisation.
- Ability to plan and prioritise own and others' work to meet internal and external deadlines.
- Strong use of IT systems, particularly MS Excel.
- Technical understanding of the operation of finance systems and financial processes, including the balance sheet.
- Ability to investigate complex financial enquiries, providing assistance and advice as required.
Communication
- Able to communicate effectively in written and verbal English Language.
- Ability to hold discussions with suppliers and individuals around sensitive and contentious issues.
- Ability to influence others using your communication skills to enable internal and external deadlines to be met.
