Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • General To work with the Charity Development and Project Manager to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising campaigns and activities aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Produce high quality reports for senior management including performance analysis and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with internal stakeholders including Trust staff, suppliers, media, local businesses and community leaders to maximise opportunities for partnership and fundraising.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Trust policies and communication team processes and protocols, and comment on processes as required during review.
  • Fundraising Project manage and lead on the planning, delivery and evaluation of key fundraising campaigns including our Caring Together regular giving programme.
  • Provide expert advice and tailored support to individuals, community groups, and staff fundraising for the charity ensuring excellent support experience.
  • Lead on the stewardship of supporters and donors, ensuring excellent communication, donor recognition and thanking processes to foster long-term relationships.
  • Lead on key fundraising events and initiatives, including third-party events and supporter-led initiatives. From concept and planning through to delivery and post-event evaluation.
  • Oversee procurement, management and maintenance of equipment and materials needed for fundraising activities, ensuring cost effectiveness and appropriate use.
  • Manage the secure handling, reconciliation and banking of cash received from fundraising.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising activities, identifying trends, areas for improvement and opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Proactively research, approach and build partnerships with local businesses and organisations to secure sponsorship, donations and in-kind support.
  • Researching and writing application bids for small grants or charitable donations as appropriate, producing compelling cases for support.
  • Supporter Engagement and Communications Develop and implement a communications plan to increase engagement and awareness through charitys website content, social media platforms, email campaigns, and printed publications aligned with brand guidelines and fundraising objectives.
  • Create and manage high-quality, engaging digital content, including multi-media and storytelling, to strengthen supporter relationships and drive fundraising.
  • Design and implement supporter journeys that foster meaningful relationships, enhance donor loyalty and encourage sustained and repeated giving.
  • Produce a range of compelling fundraising and campaign materials, including impact reports, thank you packs and promotional literature.
  • Champion the charity internally, working closely with NHS colleagues and teams to increase staff awareness, engagement and involvement.
  • Support and where appropriate lead on media relations and PR activity in partnership with the Communications Team, including writing press releases and producing high-quality content delivery for external channels.
  • Administration and General Duties Maintain accurate records on the charitys database, ensuring accurate, timely and GDPR compliant recording of supporter interactions, donations and communications.
  • Ensure all fundraising activity complies with fundraising regulation, NHS Governance and the Code of Fundraising Practice.
  • Actively contribute to team meetings, strategic planning and development sessions.
  • Analyse and report on campaign and fundraising performance using data to make informed decisions and support continuous improvement.
  • Undertake other duties expected in line with the role.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Trust and community, contributing to a culture of innovation, inclusivity and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of the charitys fundraising strategy and annual income plans and impact measurement framework.
  • Identify and propose new income generation opportunities in line with the charitys goal and evolving community needs.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • 1 years experience in charity sector

Experience

  • Experience of working with donors and fundraisers to generate income
  • Stewardship of supporters
  • Experience of planning, delivering and evaluating fundraising campaigns
  • Creation of new fundraising events
  • Writing grant applications to funders
  • Experience working in the NHS/public sector organisation
  • Producing content for social media and digital platforms
  • Understanding of Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Caldicott guidelines

Skills

  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Confident working independently and using initiative
  • Event Management
  • Understanding of fund-raising techniques.
  • Good IT skills with Office365 knowledge
  • Knowledge of the charity sector
  • Familiarity with CRM or supporter databases
