Job Title: Clinical Support Worker / Therapy Assistant

This is a new post for an experienced Clinical Support Worker or Therapy Assistant with the right skills and experience to join the therapy team supporting the inpatients at Priscilla Bacon Lodge.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assess and provide care to inpatients, working closely with nursing, therapy teams, and the broader multidisciplinary team (MDT).
  2. Support discharge planning and rehabilitation through assessment and therapy-based interventions under supervision of a registered therapist.
  3. Develop IT literacy to maintain patient records and manage equipment efficiently.
  4. Attend meetings and patient review sessions to represent therapy care.
  5. Complete patient records accurately and timely, including inputting data into SystmOne.
  6. Liaise with GPs, Social Services, inpatient teams, other healthcare professionals, and voluntary sectors to coordinate care.
  7. Contribute to service development and participate in multidisciplinary/multiagency meetings.
  8. Ensure safe use and maintenance of equipment, and contribute to supplies management.
  9. Obtain patient consent following policy guidelines.
  10. Assist with indirect patient contact tasks such as appointments, referrals, and data entry.
  11. Participate in mandatory training and supervision, adhering to the Trust’s Behaviour Framework.
  12. Engage in risk assessments and incident reporting (Datix).
  13. Communicate sensitively and appropriately at all times.
