Due to the nature of the role, a driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance is essential for this role; mileage is paid at 45p per mile for cars after your home to work base mileage is deducted.

The Role
As our Data Manager, you will take the lead on developing and delivering high-quality organisational and contractual reporting across Norfolk and Waveney Mind. You will oversee the management, development, and integrity of our data warehouse and management information systems, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data governance best practice. This is a key role within the organisation, responsible for transforming data into meaningful insights that support operational teams, senior leaders, and external partners. You will also play a vital part in supporting data quality, information governance, and ongoing improvements to how we collect and use data.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about using data; you will bring significant technical expertise alongside excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and maintenance of the organisation’s data warehouse, managing the full data lifecycle using SQL, tabular modelling and Power BI.
- Develop accurate and scalable reporting services to support Executive, operational and back-office teams.
- Act as the organisation’s expert on NHS Digital Mental Health Services Data Set (MHSDS) reporting.
- Work collaboratively with partners and commissioners on data reporting requirements.
- Produce a comprehensive suite of internal management reports for use across the organisation.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of key systems, including the client management system (IAPTUS), to promote high standards of data quality and governance.
- Conduct data analysis to support service management—for example, analysing waiting list trends.
- Provide technical support and training to help teams make the most of business intelligence tools and visualisations.
- Ensure all data processes meet GDPR and wider data protection requirements.
- Produce and maintain Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and support the organisation’s DSP Toolkit submission.
- Assist the DPO with data required for Subject Access Requests.
- Carry out regular data audits to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support the Information Governance Working Group and contribute to the organisation’s cyber security compliance agenda, including Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus.
Essential Qualifications & Experience Include
- Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
- Full driving licence and use of own transport.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with SQL databases (DML, DDL, DQL).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in data modelling within SQL environments.
- Demonstrable experience in Power BI dashboard development.
- Experience working with and improving IT systems (e.g., EPR/CRM systems).
- Experience managing projects, auditing systems, and presenting complex data.
- Strong IT proficiency, including Office365 tools.
