We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Physiotherapist to join our Older Adults Allied Health Professionals Team at the Julian Hospital.
Within this role you will be working using evidence based practice alongside a rich and varied MDT. You will assess, develop and plan specialist treatment and interventions for older adults with complex mental health and physical problems. Your role will include moving and handling assessments, identifying exercises and recording outcome measures for service users\β presenting with multi-pathologies and declining mental health function.

your career. We supply learning and development to meet the needs of our service users, staff and Trust. The successful candidate will work between wards and with our AHP team. They will be able to work independently under the direct supervision of the Allied Health Professional team within our Older Adults inpatient service.
(HCPC registration and CSP membership is essential)
Within our service you will have the opportunity to work with inpatients who have organic (Dementia) and functional presentations such as psychosis, anxiety and mood disorders. You will have the opportunity to use your physical health training alongside the ability to communicate and engage with older people living with complex mental and physical health needs.
- Maintaining service users safety, comfort and well-being
- Completion of moving and handling assessments, falls, balance, neurological, MSK, respiratory assessments and corresponding
treatments
- Delivering groups and exercise programs
- Providing specialist advice, educating others and supporting more junior staff
- Use of community equipment provision systems (TCES equip) to facilitate transition of care during service users discharge process
- Completion of home visits and visiting care homes, pertaining to discharge planning.
- Working closely with other AHP\βs and the wider MDT to provide high quality care for service users.
We work collaboratively to share knowledge, learning and promote effective communication. There are opportunities to engage in CPD at MDT, AHP Forums, and meetings where staff engage in open and honest sharing of views .
