Our CAMHS Learning Disability Service are looking for a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide clinical care to young people with learning disabilities in Suffolk with clinical lead responsibility across under 18 Learning Disability service.
We need someone who can lead by example by being part of the Clinical leadership team for the Learning Disability Services across Suffolk in order to deliver high quality care to patients and their families.
Main duties of the job
The Autism Diagnostic Youth Service for Suffolk (ADYSS) provides full diagnostic assessments for autism spectrum disorder for 11- to 18-year-olds whose GP is based in Suffolk (excluding Waveney).
The under 18 ADHD service provides assessment for ADHD for under 18s whose GP is based in Suffolk (excluding Waveney). They also prescribe ADHD medication where appropriate and provide medical monitoring and follow-up.
This post is splint between these two teams. We envisage that the successful candidate will provide specialist psychiatric input to both teams and in doing so will support closer working within the entire under 18 neurodevelopmental disorders pathway.
The successful candidate will provide specialist consultant input to the ADYSS team in line with NICE guidance. This role will be 0.3 WTE.
The successful candidate will provide specialist consultant input to the under 18 ADHD team alongside the existing substantive CAMHS consultant in the team. This role will be 0.5 WTE.
