We are very excited to offer this opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to lead as the Trauma Coordinator for the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department.
This is a great opportunity to work alongside the on-call medical team, nurse practitioners, spinal care injury specialist coordinator, revision knee clinical specialist, and regional network coordinator.
We are looking for an experienced nurse who fulfills the job requirements or is interested in establishing a new role within the department.
This department is progressive and continuously adapting to improve patient care. We welcome applicants who are eager to lead the team and drive the department forward.
The successful candidate will deliver excellent patient care by prioritising trauma lists and assisting in managing orthopaedic and trauma beds in collaboration with the emergency department, ward nurses, and the patient flow team.
They will work with clinical colleagues to ensure effective scheduling of trauma surgeries, support clinical staff to reduce cancelled operations, and prepare trauma patients for surgery, including appropriate communication of care plans.
The role involves developing ambulatory trauma pathways, liaising with various hospital units to optimise capacity, and coordinating transfers for specialist trauma surgery with other hospitals.
Additional responsibilities include booking high dependency, critical care, and extended recovery beds, ensuring pre-surgical checks are complete, and supporting patient discharge procedures.
The role also involves organizing follow-up appointments, booking diagnostics, and ensuring reviews are completed by clinicians.
