Overview

You will be expected to work in all areas of the Department and be taught to use the specialised equipment. You will also prepare patients for IVT lists and undertake visual acuity, visual fields and assist clinicians in the clinics.

Core Responsibilities

  • Work across all departmental areas in line with current clinical practice.
  • Prepare patients for IVT lists and support clinical staff.
  • Undertake visual acuity, visual fields, and assist clinicians in the clinics.
  • Assist with equipment preparation for theatres and collection of medication from pharmacy.

Working Time and Conditions

Working hours are Monday to Friday with no bank holidays or weekends. Car parking is available on site and in surrounding areas. Flexible working patterns may be considered on application.

  • Carry out tasks and instructions from registered professionals relevant to patient care, such as collecting blood for transfusion or medication from pharmacy.
  • Participate in audit as required.
  • Develop self‑awareness, resilience, relationship building, self‑care and adaptability.

Additional Information

You do not need previous ophthalmology experience as full training and support will be provided in house. If you meet the minimum criteria detailed in the person specification, please submit a supporting statement demonstrating how you meet the essential and desirable criteria.
