To deliver high-quality reality capture, inspection, and survey data across a wide range of projects, supporting the company’s geospatial, inspection, and measured survey operations. The Reality Capture Specialist will undertake on-site data capture using drones, laser scanners, GNSS/GPS equipment, and photogrammetry techniques, and will be responsible for processing, managing, and preparing datasets for client delivery. This is a field-intensive role involving frequent travel and regular overnight stays, suited to someone practical, technically capable, and comfortable working independently with advanced capture technologies.
Responsibilities
- Undertake drone operations for roof inspections, asset inspections, and area surveys in accordance with CAA regulations.
- Carry out photogrammetry surveys (aerial and terrestrial).
- Undertake measured building and site surveys using laser scanners and supporting survey equipment.
- Operate laser scanning systems, GNSS/GPS equipment, and total stations where required.
- Plan and execute site visits, including risk assessments, RAMS, and method statements.
- Travel extensively across the UK and Ireland, including regular overnight stays.
- Process, register, and clean point cloud and photogrammetry datasets.
- Manage large datasets efficiently, ensuring clear data structures and traceability.
- Prepare survey outputs suitable for CAD, BIM, inspection, and reporting workflows.
- Support quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy and consistency of deliverables.
- Work with and support the adoption of emerging reality capture technologies.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of survey and processing workflows.
- Assist with testing and implementation of new capture methods and software.
Key Skills & Attributes
- Strong practical experience in reality capture, surveying, or geomatics.
- Competence in UAV/drone operations for inspection and survey applications.
- Good understanding of photogrammetry and laser scanning workflows.
- Experience operating GNSS/GPS equipment.
- Ability to process and manage large spatial datasets independently.
- High attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work autonomously.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively.
Experience & Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in reality capture, survey, inspection, or related field-based roles.
- Relevant qualification in surveying, geomatics, geospatial science, construction, or similar (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience delivering processed survey data from raw capture through to output.
- Familiarity with advanced 3D reconstruction techniques such as Gaussian splats.
- Experience with LiDAR (terrestrial or aerial).
- Experience working with CAD or BIM environments.
- Previous experience in construction, infrastructure, or asset inspection sectors.
