The UK Bureau is provided to support our clients, to reduce the number of site attendances and help improve their carbon footprint. As a Bureau Engineer, you will be a key deliverer of this business aim and help us develop our suite of services to enhance and grow this function to an advanced stage.
Responsibilities and Duties- Day to day operation of the Bureau, escalating tasks as required in a timely manner.
- Maintain call management system for planned, reactive and remedial works, and support further development for other business areas.
- Ensure all logs and records are accurate and up to date, and ensure all paperwork is correctly filed on the server.
- Undertake training as required, both internal and external, to fully maximise learning opportunities.
- End to end management of all reactive support calls (call outs), including logging, assigning, monitoring response times, issuing customer and internal reports where required.
- Escalate calls/issues to the appropriate person to ensure client response times are met.
- Assist with the understanding of engineers reports and ensure that all remedial works are quoted for. Review with Manager or other stakeholders where necessary.
- Act as backup to the Sales Engineer for remedial quote preparation.
- Provide reports to the Service team as necessary.
- Work with customers to create costed proposals to provide BMS solutions.
- Proactively interrogate trend software to find and resolve issues as well as finding and implementing energy saving strategies.
- Remotely connect to client sites to diagnose reported faults and issues.
- Provide clients with detailed reports including works carried out, issues identified and solutions to rectify.
- Complete remote energy audits identifying wastage and reporting findings.
- Carry out remote PPM.
- Liaise with customer IT departments to provide remote connectivity.
You will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the dynamics of heating, ventilation and air conditioning plant including current heat pump and renewable technologies. You will be able to perform 1st stage diagnosis of plant performance issues using your observational skills of the available data. Maintain frequent contact with clients to build and maintain relationships at all levels. Identify opportunities for additional support contracts and services with existing customers, ensuring our clients are aware of all services and solutions we can offer. Generate extra works and project sales leads with existing customers and contracts, and pass leads to Business Development Team.
Skills and Experience- Computer literate and a competent level of experience with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work to deadlines and/or under pressure and to remain calm.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly organized and able to prioritise.
- Reliability and flexibility.
- Service / Field based engineer experience desirable.
- Building Services background desirable.
- Self-motivated / able to work on own initiative.
