About the role: The role is based in B46 Coleshill but would travel across sites in the West Midlands and across the country. Responsible for the strategic leadership, development and implementation of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) management systems across the UK business. Ensure compliance with all applicable UK statutory requirements and recognised management system standards including ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
The role provides competent professional advice to the business, promotes a positive safety culture and behavioural safety approach, and drives continuous improvement in risk management, quality performance and environmental sustainability. This is a UK leadership role requiring a strategic mindset and the ability to influence and inspire safe and sustainable operations across the business. The jobholder will be skilled at engaging with individuals at all levels, building strong partnerships and driving continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.
Salary is £70k plus car, bonus and excellent benefits package.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as the organisations Competent Person under Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, providing professional advice on statutory duties and risk control.
- Use the roles authority to intervene in operations where there is a significant health, safety or environmental risk.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Health & Safety policy, systems and procedures.
- Oversee development and implementation of risk assessments, safe systems of work, and method statements (RAMS).
- Lead accident and incident investigations and ensure RIDDOR reporting compliance.
- Ensure compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, including oversight of Principal Contractor / Contractor responsibilities where applicable.
- Lead internal safety audits and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and permits, including overseeing waste management processes and duty of care requirements and maintain environmental risk assessments and impact registers.
- Lead initiatives to reduce environmental impact and improve sustainability, including collaborating with suppliers and other Nordomatic group companies as required.
- Manage relationships with regulatory authorities including the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Environment Agency, including responding to inspections, improvement notices or enforcement actions if required.
- Ensure corrective and preventive action processes are effective.
- Develop and monitor QHSE KPIs including leading and lagging indicators, ensuring reporting to the senior leadership team and supporting board governance.
- Line manage, support and develop QHSE team members.
- Provide clear reporting to senior leadership on QHSE performance metrics.
- Maintain compliance registers and legal update tracking systems.
- Support continuous improvement and process optimisation initiatives.
- Develop and deliver training programmes across the business.
- Ensure appropriate supply chain and subcontractor QHSE prequalification, evaluation, monitoring and performance management.
- Ensure appropriate emergency preparedness and response plans are established, tested and maintained.
- Maintain, develop and comply with the Company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) reflecting the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Support the senior leadership team in fulfilling their duties under the Corporate Acts associated with H&S.

Qualifications & Experience:- Essential: NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety).
- Membership of IOSH or IEMA.
- Strong working knowledge of UK HSE legislation.
- Experience in implementing and managing ISO management systems.
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in a Health, Safety, Environmental or Quality leadership role.
- People management experience.
- Ability to travel UK wide and within Europe/US.
- Desirable: Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH).
- Lead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001 / 14001 / 27001/ 45001).
- Experience liaising with HSE or Environment Agency.
- Experience within construction, engineering, building services or BMS environments.
- Strong knowledge of UK statutory compliance requirements.
- Confident communicator at all levels, from engineers to senior stakeholders.
- Adaptable and approachable with effective influencing skills.
- Organised, structured, and detail-oriented, with investigative and analytical capability.
- Ability to collaborate with others and influence change.
- Balanced strategic and operational approach.
- Strong incident investigation capability (e.g., root cause analysis).
- Experience managing integrated management systems (IMS).
- Ability to influence behavioural safety culture.
