Nordic Outdoor is on a mission to bring the Scandinavian approach to the outdoors to the UK. As an independent retailer with stores in Edinburgh, London and the Lake District, we see ourselves as ambassadors for Scandinavian culture, clothing and equipment.
We are now preparing to open a new store in Edinburgh, building on the success of our existing locations. This new space will showcase our curated range of premium outdoor clothing and equipment alongside dedicated shop-in-shop areas for two of the world’s leading outdoor brands - bringing their first physical retail presence to Scotland.
We are looking for a Store Manager to lead this new store and play a key role in shaping its success from day one. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the store, working closely with:
- An experienced Assistant Manager
- A small team of sales advisors
- Our Head Office team
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading by example in customer service and sales
- Supporting the team during peak trading periods
- Ensuring a high standard of presentation across all areas of the store
- Driving sales performance and maximising opportunities on the shopfloor
- Delivering a consistently high standard of customer service
- Supporting and developing the store team through training and coaching
- Overseeing store presentation, including dedicated shop-in-shop brand areas
- Managing rota planning, stock processes and general administration
- Working closely with Head Office to support ongoing development of the store
This role will suit someone who enjoys being on the shopfloor and leading a team through example, rather than from the back office. The ideal candidate has experience managing in a fast-paced retail environment (outdoor, fashion or premium retail preferred), can coach and develop others, and has an interest in outdoor clothing and equipment (training will be provided).
We offer a competitive salary + commission structure, the opportunity to open and shape a new store, and ongoing product and sales training. This is a full-time, permanent role (5 days per week).
