Nordex has an exciting opportunity for the role of Wind Turbine Service Technician based at Haslingden.
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Haslingden
Hours: Our core hours are 40 per week (Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm) with an requirement to work overtime when required. Our Service Technicians are also required to be available for any breakdowns and faults at the weekend, working on-call every 2nd or 3rd weekend (depending on the size of your team). Overtime is paid at time and a half, and you will receive an additional payment for the weekend you are on on-call.
What will you be doing?
As a Wind Turbine Service Technician, you will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of Nordex wind turbines covering turbines around the Haslingden area. You will carry out general and specialised work including repairs, troubleshooting and fault-finding activities ensuring our wind turbines continue to achieve a high level of availability.
- On site performance analysis and action plan implementation
- Working closely with Technicians and Back Office staff to perform on the job demonstrations
- Supporting on site single turbine improvements on problem turbines
- Providing on site software & hardware updates
- Supporting on-line and on phone technical support
- Creating reports on turbine or turbine components
- Parameter disabling and alarm change handling when necessary
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in the Mechanical / Electrical industry and be able to demonstrate knowledge of reading electrical, hydraulic and mechanical diagrams. You will be Mechanical or Electrical trained through time-served or a technical college qualification which should be at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. You will be able to demonstrate you can identify and define problems, extract crucial information from technical data, and develop workable solutions to problems.

- Computer literate and confident in using MS Office packages, in house databases and workload management systems
- This role involves working at heights, up to 140m. You will need to be fit and health and pass a working at height test
- You will be required to travel on an occasional basis which includes nights away from home
- A full UK / EU Driving Licence is required for this role
