Contract Type: 12-month Internship starting in Summer 2026
Location: Didsbury, Manchester
Hours: 37 hours per week
How can you make a difference? The Safety & Environment Intern will work with the HSE team here at Nordex UK & Ireland to support the delivery of safety and environmental initiatives across the Nordex UK & Ireland region. This is a 12-month internship for a placement student who is looking to gain hands-on experience in a busy environment to develop their skills in Safety, compliance and sustainability or a recent graduate.
What will you be doing?
- Supporting the Health, Safety and Environment team with hazard identification and audits
- Supporting risk assessments, safety briefings and toolbox talks
- Contributing to incident investigations by gathering information and documenting findings
- Supporting compliance activities related to environmental legislation and company policies
- Helping the team with environmental awareness campaigns
- Updating HSE dashboards, monthly reports and trackers
- Conducting research on best practice, emerging regulations and sustainability initiatives
- Helping to promote a positive safety culture
- Supporting business improvement projects
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting with ad-hoc tasks to support the wider Nordex team
What are we looking for?
You will be currently studying an Environmental, Health & Safety or Sustainability degree and be looking to undertake a placement as part of your degree or you will be recently graduated with a relevant degree and be looking for work experience in this area. Other skills and behaviours required for this role include:
- Strong organisational and attention to detail skills
- Strong interest in Safety, Health and Environmental management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- AI knowledge and how it can be used to improve efficiency
- High level of competency in using MS Office packages
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
