Overview

Wind Turbine Service Technician – Stirling. Join to apply for the Wind Turbine Service Technician – Stirling role at Nordex Group. This is a permanent position to join the team working across Stirling wind farms.

What you will do and how you can make a difference: As a Wind Turbine Service Technician you will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of Nordex wind turbines for Nordex UK. You will carry out general and specialised work including repairs, troubleshooting and fault-finding activities. Our goal is to achieve a high level of availability for the running of the turbines.

Responsibilities

  • On site performance analysis and action plan implementation
  • Work closely with Technicians and Back Office staff to perform on the job demonstrations
  • Support on site single turbine improvements on problem turbines
  • Provide on site software & hardware updates
  • Support online and on phone technical support
  • Create reports on turbine or turbine components
  • Parameter disabling and alarm change handling when necessary

What we look for

  • Experience in Mechanical/Electrical industry with knowledge of reading electrical, hydraulic and mechanical diagrams
  • Mechanical or Electrical training through time-served or a technical college qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Ability to identify and define problems, extract information from technical data, and develop workable solutions; adaptable to change
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, lead and improve
  • Computer literacy with MS Office and experience with SAP preferred
  • Role involves working at heights up to 100m; fitness and ability to pass a working at height test
  • Regular travel including nights away; full UK/EU driving licence required
