Wind Turbine Service Technician – Kilbraur

Nordex Group

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Kilbraur Windfarm

Hours: 40 per week Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm. Requirement to work overtime when required. Availability for weekend breakdowns on-call every 2nd or 3rd weekend. Overtime paid time and a half, additional pay for weekend on-call.

Responsibilities

  • Servicing and maintenance of Nordex wind turbines at Kilbraur Windfarm.
  • General and specialised work including repairs, troubleshooting and fault‑finding.
  • On‑site performance analysis and action plan implementation.
  • Collaboration with technicians and back‑office staff for on‑site demonstrations.
  • Support on‑site single turbine improvements on problem turbines.
  • Providing on‑site software & hardware updates.
  • Supporting online and on‑phone technical support.
  • Creating reports on turbine or turbine components.
  • Parameter disabling and alarm change handling when necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Mechanical or Electrical trained through time‑served or technical college qualification at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Experience in Mechanical/Electrical industry and knowledge of reading electrical, hydraulic and mechanical diagrams.
  • Ability to identify and define problems, extract crucial information from technical data and develop workable solutions.
  • Adaptability to continuous change and different challenges.
  • Positive attitude with willingness to learn, lead and continuously improve.
  • Computer literate and confident in using MS Office packages, in‑house databases and workload management systems.
  • Fit and healthy to pass a working at height test up to 140m.
  • Occasional travel, including nights away from home.
  • Full UK / EU Driving Licence required.
