Do you share our passion for renewable energy and want to help build a greener future? Nordex has an exciting opportunity for a Wind Turbine Service Technician based in Hull. This is a permanent, full‑time contract with the following details:

  • Location: Wind farms in the Hull area
  • Hours: 40 per week (Mon–Fri 8 am–5 pm) with overtime as required. On‑call weekend coverage every 2nd or 3rd weekend.
  • Compensation: Overtime paid time and a half and additional payment for weekend on‑call.

How you can make a difference

As a Wind Turbine Service Technician you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining Nordex wind turbines across the Hull area. Your role will involve general and specialised work—including repairs, troubleshooting, fault‑finding—and ensuring turbines achieve a high level of availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • On‑site performance analysis and implementation of action plans
  • Collaborate with technicians and back‑office staff to conduct on‑the‑job demonstrations
  • Provide on‑site technical support for single‑turbine improvements
  • Deliver on‑site software and hardware updates
  • Offer online and phone technical support
  • Create reports on turbine performance or components
  • Handle parameter disabling and alarm change requests when necessary

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in the mechanical/electrical industry with ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical diagrams.
  • Mechanical or electrical training via NVQ Level 3 or equivalent technical college qualification.
  • Strong problem‑identification and solution‑development skills.
  • The ability to adapt to continuous change and varied challenges.
  • Positive attitude, a willingness to learn and lead, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Computer literate with confidence in MS Office, in‑house databases, and workload management systems.
  • Fitness and health to pass a working‑at‑height test for heights up to 140 m.
  • Availability to travel occasionally, including overnight stays.
  • Full UK / EU driving licence.
