Location: Tullo, Aberdeenshire
Hours: 40 per week (Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm). Overtime is required and paid at time and a half. On-call shifts are every 2nd or 3rd weekend, with additional weekend payment.
How can you make a difference? As a Wind Turbine Service Technician, you will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of Nordex wind turbines covering turbines in Tullo, Aberdeenshire. You will carry out general and specialised work, including repairs, troubleshooting and fault‑finding activities to keep turbines operating at high availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- On site performance analysis and action plan implementation
- Working closely with Technicians and Back Office staff to perform on the job demonstrations
- Supporting on site single turbine improvements on problem turbines
- Providing on site software & hardware updates
- Supporting online and on phone technical support
- Creating reports on turbine or turbine components
- Parameter disabling and alarm change handling when necessary
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have experience working in the Mechanical / Electrical industry and be able to demonstrate knowledge of reading electrical, hydraulic and mechanical diagrams. You will be mechanically or electrically trained through time‑served or a technical college qualification, at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
Additional essential skills and behaviours:
- The ability to adapt to an environment of continuous change and different challenges
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn, lead and continuously improve
- Computer literate and confident in using MS office packages, in house databases and workload management systems
This role involves working at heights, up to 140m. You will need to be fit and healthy and pass a working at height test. You will be required to travel on an occasional basis which includes nights away from home. A full UK / EU Driving Licence is required for this role.
