Do you share our passion for renewable energy for a greener and sustainable future? Nordex has an exciting opportunity for the role of Wind Turbine Service Technician based at the Millennium Windfarm in Inverness-Shire.
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Millennium Windfarm, Inverness-shire
Hours: Core hours are 40 per week (Monday β Friday 8am β 5pm) with a requirement to work overtime when required. Service Technicians may be called out for breakdowns at weekends, on a rotating on-call basis (every 2nd or 3rd weekend, depending on team size). Overtime is paid at time and a half, with additional on-call payment for the weekend you are on call.
Responsibilities:
- Servicing and maintenance of Nordex wind turbines at the Millennium windfarm
- Perform general and specialized work including repairs, troubleshooting and fault-finding to maintain high turbine availability
- On-site performance analysis and implementation of action plans to improve fleet performance
- Collaborate with Technicians and Back Office staff to perform on-the-job demonstrations
- Support on-site single turbine improvements on problem turbines
- Provide on-site software and hardware updates
- Offer on-line and telephone technical support
- Create reports on turbines or turbine components
- Manage parameter changes and alarm handling when necessary
What weβre looking for:
- The ideal candidate will have experience in the Mechanical/Electrical industry and be able to read electrical, hydraulic and mechanical diagrams.
- Mechanical or Electrical training through time-served experience or a technical college qualification (at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) is required.
- You should be able to identify and define problems, extract crucial information from technical data, and develop workable solutions.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and diverse challenges
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn, lead and continuously improve
- Computer literate; comfortable using MS Office, in-house databases and workload management systems
- This role involves working at heights up to 140m; fitness and passing a working-at-height test are required
- Occasional travel including nights away from home
- Full UK/EU Driving Licence required
