Join us at Nordell as one of the UK’s leading plastics manufacturing and design refinement companies. We are looking for an IT & Systems Apprentice to support the day-to-day running and upkeep of our IT and digital systems. This role goes beyond traditional IT support. You will play a key part in keeping the business running smoothly by assisting users, helping maintain systems, and supporting improvements to how we use technology across the business. You will gain hands‑on experience across IT support, systems usage, and operational processes while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification. This position is a permanent and full‑time role. You will be working towards Level 3 ICT Support Network Technician qualification. The apprenticeship lasts 18 months, plus 4 months EPA.
The Perks
- Provide first-line support for hardware, software, and user issues
- Set up and configure laptops, desktops, and user accounts
- Support Microsoft 365 and day‑to‑day business tools
- Liaising with team to undertake routine day to day maintenance of printers, end user devices and ancillary equipment
- Support the team to resolve any IT related issues – undertaking research to help solve these issues if necessary and escalating when needed
- Assist with maintaining internal systems (e.g. ERP, production, or scheduling systems)
- Support data accuracy across systems and help identify inconsistencies
- Assist with system updates, access controls, and basic cybersecurity practices
- Help document processes and create simple user guides
- Support roll out and updates on hardware and software systems
- Support small improvement projects to streamline processes
- Assist in implementing simple automation or workflow improvements
- Contribute to projects linked to digitalisation and operational efficiency
- Assist in identifying and sharing opportunities for IT improvement programs
- Maintain IT asset lists and equipment tracking
- Support onboarding and offboarding of employees (accounts, equipment, access)
- Assist with backups, updates, and general IT housekeeping
Skills
- 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language, Maths & ICT)
- Strong interest in IT, systems, or technology
- Curious mindset with a willingness to learn and ask questions
- Problem‑solving attitude and logical thinking
- Good communication skills and confidence supporting others
- Organised and able to manage tasks effectively
- Ability to demonstrate initiative
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, components, and peripherals
