We are partnered with a Global Tier one bank for a Gen AI Engineer to join their team in Glasgow on a 12 month rolling contract.

The ideal candidate will need to have deep hands-on experience in Python within a financial services setting and a strong grounding in Generative AI , LLMs , and prompt engineering .

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop a generative AI chatbot tailored to core finance analytical functions (e.g. liquidity stress testing, balance sheet, positions, deposits, collateral).
• Build and enhance an agentic analysis solution for multi-step financial tasks such as variance analysis, data quality checks, and Python/pandas code generation/execution.
• Develop a robust testing framework to assess the accuracy, performance, and reliability of AI agents.
• Create and fine-tune prompt generation strategies to enhance the chatbot’s financial domain relevance and response quality.
• Maintain and scale the underlying infrastructure supporting AI deployment using the bank’s internal AI platforms.
• Integrate the chatbot with existing financial systems and databases to deliver real-time, accurate insights.

Experience:

• Hands-on development of LLM-based applications (OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, etc.).
• Strong Python programming skills, including libraries like pandas , numpy , and experience with data pipelines.
• Domain experience in finance (liquidity, risk, balance sheet, collateral, etc.).
• Familiarity with frameworks such as LangChain , Semantic Kernel , or similar.
• Prior experience working with AI evaluation techniques and agent orchestration .
• Understanding of cloud AI platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Background in TDD/Agile development in a high-compliance environment is preferred
