We are seeking a collaborative and supportive professional who thrives in working closely with colleagues on a daily basis and has a strong understanding of best practices for supporting students.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Work across the school to provide high-quality, personalised support to students with a range of learning, social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Provide tailored in-class and withdrawal support to students with identified learning needs, under the direction of the AENCO and class teachers.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students to support their academic progress, confidence and emotional well-being.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, the AENCO and pastoral teams to implement individual support plans and strategies effectively.
• Support the inclusion of all students in school life, fostering a welcoming and respectful environment for every learner.
• Carry out personal care and physical support duties where required, in line with school policy and individual student needs.

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold a minimum qualification of QQI Level 5 in Special Needs Assisting, Healthcare Support or an equivalent qualification.
• Bring genuine commitment to inclusive education.
• Have experience working with children or young people with a range of additional learning needs in an educational or care setting.
• Demonstrate patience, empathy and a calm, consistent approach to supporting students.
• Be organised and proactive, with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of students and the school day.
• Support neurodiverse students through both academic guidance and emotional wellbeing support.
• Demonstrate an understanding of LGBTQ+ experiences and best practices when providing one-to-one support to students.
