Etqan Global Academy (EGA) is a premium IB World School in Doha, Qatar, offering the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our team, taking responsibility for the health, wellbeing and medical care of all students and contributing to a safe, nurturing and healthy school environment.
We seek an individual to join as School Nurse where your focus will be:
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the school medical room, ensuring it is safe, well-stocked and fit for purpose at all times
- Providing prompt, professional first aid and nursing care to students and staff who are injured or unwell during the school day
- Assessing, monitoring and responding to student health needs, referring to external providers or emergency services as appropriate
- Administering prescribed medication in accordance with individual healthcare plans, school policy and Qatar regulatory requirements
- Maintaining accurate, confidential medical records and individual healthcare plans for all students, including allergy and chronic condition management
- Acting as a key member of the school's safeguarding team, supporting the identification and reporting of welfare concerns
- Developing and delivering health education and wellbeing initiatives for students across all phases
- Communicating proactively and professionally with parents, staff and external medical providers regarding student health matters
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse qualification (RN) with current, valid registration with the NMC or equivalent regulatory body
- Paediatric nursing qualification or significant paediatric nursing experience
- Current Paediatric First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) / AED certifications
- Minimum 2 years' post-registration nursing experience, ideally in a paediatric or school setting
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection requirements in an international context
- Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic language skills desirable
- Experience working in Qatar or the Middle East, and knowledge of Qatar Ministry of Health regulations (desirable)
