Etqan Global Academy, Doha, Qatar is looking to recruit a Health & Safety Manager to join the team. We are looking for someone to support, maintain and improve the school's health and safety management arrangements, ensuring a safe, compliant and well-managed environment for students, staff, visitors and contractors.
We seek an individual where your focus will be:
- Leading the implementation of the school's health and safety management system, ensuring policies and procedures are understood and applied
- Providing practical health and safety advice and guidance to school leadership, operations, facilities and teaching teams
- Coordinating and maintaining risk assessments across school activities, facilities, educational visits, events and contractors
- Carrying out regular health and safety inspections and audits across the school site
- Supporting the development and testing of emergency response arrangements, including fire evacuation, lockdown and medical emergency procedures
- Delivering health and safety induction, training and awareness sessions for staff and contractors
- Managing contractor safety compliance and monitoring contractor activities on site
- Reporting regularly on health and safety performance to school and regional leadership
Relevant qualifications include Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent experience, e.g. NEBOSH International General Certificate. Experience in a health and safety role, ideally within a school, education, facilities, hospitality or healthcare environment is required. A strong understanding of risk assessment, inspections, incident investigation and corrective action management is essential. The ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders in a school environment is necessary. IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid or Fire Safety training is desirable.
