Location: Etqan Global Academy (EGA), Doha, Qatar
Etqan Global Academy (EGA) is a newly established IB World School in Doha, Qatar, offering the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Secondary to provide visionary leadership across our secondary school, driving academic excellence, developing a high-performing team and embedding a culture of high aspiration and international-mindedness.
The role:
- Providing strategic leadership and direction for the secondary school in line with the IB MYP philosophy and EGA's School Strategic Plan
- Championing the IB Middle Years Programme and ensuring high-quality, concept-driven and inquiry-based teaching and learning
- Leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing secondary teaching team through coaching, appraisal and CPD
- Driving whole-school improvement through effective monitoring, evaluation, data analysis and self-review processes
- Building strong, positive relationships with students, parents and the wider school community
- Collaborating with the Principal, MYP Coordinator and SLT to deliver the School Improvement Plan
- Ensuring excellent student welfare, pastoral care and wellbeing across the secondary school
- Overseeing timetabling, curriculum planning and academic reporting for the secondary school
- Promoting student agency, the IB learner profile and international-mindedness across all year groups
The Successful Candidate will possess:
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or equivalent) and a relevant degree
- Significant senior leadership experience in an IB school, with a strong knowledge of the MYP
- A proven track record of school improvement and raising student outcomes
- Experience leading, developing and inspiring high-performing teaching teams
- Excellent data literacy and the ability to use assessment information to drive improvement
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children
- International school experience, ideally within the Middle East (desirable)
