Nord Anglia Education is looking to recruit a Health & Safety Manager to join Etqan Global Academy in Doha, Qatar. We are looking for someone to support, maintain and improve the school's health and safety management arrangements, ensuring a safe, compliant and well-managed environment for students, staff, visitors and contractors.

The role:

  • Leading the implementation of the school's health and safety management system, ensuring policies and procedures are understood and applied.
  • Providing practical health and safety advice and guidance to school leadership, operations, facilities and teaching teams.
  • Coordinating and maintaining risk assessments across school activities, facilities, educational visits, events and contractors.
  • Carrying out regular health and safety inspections and audits across the school site.
  • Leading or supporting incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
  • Supporting the development and testing of emergency response arrangements, including fire evacuation, lockdown and medical emergency procedures.
  • Delivering health and safety induction, training and awareness sessions for staff and contractors.
  • Managing contractor safety compliance and monitoring contractor activities on site.
  • Reporting regularly on health and safety performance to school and regional leadership.

The Successful Candidate will possess:

  • Relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent experience, e.g. NEBOSH International General Certificate.
  • Experience in a health and safety role, ideally within a school, education, facilities, hospitality or healthcare environment.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment, inspections, incident investigation and corrective action management.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders in a school environment.
  • Good IT skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid or Fire Safety training (desirable).
  • Experience working in Qatar or the wider GCC (desirable).
