San Roberto International School is one of the top international schools in Monterrey, Mexico. We have two campuses; San Agustin and Valle Alto, both accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). It is a Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 9 private day school, teaching ages 3 to 15 bilingually in Spanish and English.

Job Purpose: Contribute, with the rest of the teachers and administrative area of ISR, to accomplish the educative mission, especially in the esthetics and artistic area.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach the music academic classes assigned, and the activities related, such as the promotion of musical events, organization of the festival, design and be responsible for the didactic material used.
  • Evaluate students according to each unit of the course.
  • Accomplish the academic program of the music area.
  • Address inquiries of the music area from students and parents.
  • Control the didactic material and musical instruments, evaluating wear and requesting maintenance or replacement.
  • Coordinate the activities of the symphonic band and extracurricular activities of the ISR.
  • Collaborate with the department and coordination of events or activities that require musical support.
  • Commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils and undertake appropriate child protection training when required.

Activities:

  • Make the annual inventory of resources, request necessary investment for the area, revise and modify the academic program, and collaborate in festivals.
  • Organize a December presentation for parents of programs seen up to date.
  • Inform about the development of the music program, compare completed tasks with planned ones, and apply necessary adjustments.
  • Make and register evaluations, and provide necessary support in other academic areas (assemblies, events needing musical support, etc.).
  • Design, cover, and give feedback on the events programmed for the week, prepare classes, didactical material, and musical arrangements as needed.
  • Request previously required material and support.
  • Attend weekly coordination meetings (division meetings and data cycles/planning sessions) and professional development.
  • Teach the classes with quality and opportunity, inform performance to coordination, and manage and control lent material.
  • Perform supervisory duties as assigned.
