Etqan Global Academy (EGA) is a newly established IB World School in Doha, Qatar, offering the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). We are looking for a talented and passionate MYP Language & Literature Teacher to inspire our students to become confident, critical readers, writers and communicators within the IB MYP framework.
We seek an individual to join as MYP Language & Literature Teacher (English) where your focus will be:
- Planning and delivering high-quality, concept-driven Language & Literature lessons aligned with the IB MYP curriculum and global contexts
- Designing engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences that develop reading, writing, critical thinking and communication skills
- Assessing student work using MYP Language & Literature criteria and providing meaningful, constructive feedback
- Creating units of inquiry that explore language, literature, global contexts and intercultural perspectives
- Embedding ATL skills and a genuine love of reading and language throughout all aspects of teaching
- Supporting students' preparation for MYP eAssessment in Language & Literature
- Fulfilling Form Tutor responsibilities and contributing to the pastoral life of the school
- Contributing positively to the English department and the wider EGA school community
Requirements:
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, B.Ed or equivalent) and a degree in English, Language & Literature or a related subject
- Proven experience teaching Language & Literature or English in an IB MYP school
- Strong knowledge of the MYP Language & Literature curriculum, assessment criteria and eAssessment
- Excellent literacy skills and a genuine passion for language and literature
- IB MYP workshop training in Language & Literature desirable; international school experience desirable
