HEAD OF COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT AND CAPABILITY

Nord Anglia is recruiting for a Head of Commercial Development and Capability to play a pivotal role in delivering our ambition to create the world's best admissions and sales profession so we’re enrolling new students and helping our network for 90+ schools in 37 countries grow.

Reporting to the Group Head of Admissions & Sales, you'll design, develop, and implement a global professional learning and capability programme for Marketing, Admissions and Commercial colleagues across Nord Anglia.

This is an exciting brand new role.

As a professional, you’ll be an experienced sales professional who excels in showing teams ‘what great looks like’ so they deliver a first-class customer experience for fee-paying families.

The Role

  • You'll lead the development of the first Nord Anglia Commercial Academy, creating structured professional learning pathways that support colleagues from entry-level admissions roles through to school, regional and executive commercial leadership.

These pathways will include foundation, practitioner, leadership and executive-level development programmes helping colleagues understand how to grow their schools via new student enrolments, while also focusing on retention.

  • You'll translate Nord Anglia's commercial ambition into practical competency frameworks, learning programmes, professional standards, assessment approaches, accreditation pathways and career development opportunities.
  • You'll help establish Admissions and Sales as a recognised profession within Nord Anglia by making clear what excellent performance looks like, the capabilities required at each career stage and how colleagues can progress into specialist and leadership roles.
  • You'll work closely with regional and school teams to understand capability needs, identify performance gaps and create targeted development interventions.

You'll ensure professional learning is connected to commercial priorities and contributes to measurable improvements in parent experience, team effectiveness, conversion and sustainable enrolment growth.

  • Ultimately, this role will ensure every Marketing, Admissions and Commercial colleague has access to clear standards, outstanding development and meaningful opportunities to progress, making commercial capability a sustainable competitive advantage for Nord Anglia.
  • Experience in learning & development, talent development, organisational development, sales enablement, or hospitality.
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering large-scale learning strategies, academies, competency frameworks, and career pathways.
  • Strong commercial understanding of admissions, sales, customer experience, marketing, or business operations.
  • Able to link learning initiatives to measurable business performance and outcomes.
  • Excellent programme/project management skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, including working with senior leaders in a matrix environment.
  • Skilled in learning design, facilitation, and delivery across face-to-face, virtual, and digital platforms.
  • Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and written skills.
  • Digitally confident, including Microsoft 365, AI tools, and learning technologies.
  • Experience with assessment, accreditation, certification frameworks, global organisations, and international education is advantageous.
  • Comfortable working across different countries, cultures, and regions, with international travel as required.
  • Passionate about working in a purpose-led organisation.
