Overview
Provide strategic and operational advisory support to executive leadership to drive the long-term growth, profitability, and optimal utilisation of the fibre business. The role focuses on shaping strategy, strengthening financial performance, and supporting executive decision-making across fibre operations.
Job Description & Responsibilities
- Define and steer long-term fibre business strategy (3-10 years), including market and competitor analysis.
- Advise on fibre infrastructure planning, deployment, asset utilisation, and lifecycle management.
- Drive revenue maximisation through new business opportunities.
- Support build vs. lease decisions, fibre monetisation models, and revenue growth initiatives.
- Oversee CAPEX/OPEX planning, P&L performance, and financial KPIs.
- Monitor operational performance, infrastructure utilisation, and service quality.
- Prepare executive and Board-level reports and insights.
- Identify business and operational risks and support mitigation planning.
- Ensure alignment across technical, commercial, and operational stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Telecommunications preferred).
- 15+ years’ experience in fibre/telecom infrastructure environments.
- Proven senior-level exposure to strategic planning, business development, and P&L management.
- Must have worked for a Telco service provider.
- Must have worked as a consultant or advisor.
- Strong experience in fibre economics, asset monetisation, wholesale / IRU models, and build vs. lease decisions.
- Understanding of OSP infrastructure, wholesale operations, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong commercial acumen with a revenue growth and margin improvement track record.
- Background in competitive, deregulated telecom markets, such as Europe/US.
- Demonstrated ability to engage at the C-suite and Board level.
