The Cleanroom Microbiologist will be mainly based in our manufacturing areas and will be responsible for gathering samples from these areas for quality assurance purposes.

  • Sampling of pharmaceutical cleanrooms
  • Recording of data onto a database system

The successful candidate will be required to work a shift pattern which, depending on Production requirements, will involve either 8 hour or 12-hour rotations which will include nightshifts and weekends. No prior experience is required as full training will be given for this role.

Other tasks carried out on a non-routine basis include but are not limited to:

  • Recommissioning and reclassification testing
  • DOP testing of HEPA filters
  • Identification of isolates recovered from pharmaceutical cleanrooms

Requirements:

  • Grade C or above in both English and Maths at GCSE level (or equivalent)
  • The ability to work a shift pattern, this will involve either 8 or 12 hour rotations which will include nightshifts and weekends
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as demonstrated on application form, pre-interview written test and at interview
  • Full UK Driving License (for occasional movement between sites)

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of shift work
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of following formal Standard Operating Procedures

Location: This role will be based at a site that produces penicillin, therefore will not be suitable for those with a penicillin allergy.
