Job Overview
Responsible for the instrumentation and equipment within the R&D GMP and non-GMP Laboratories and support the GLP Laboratories. Overseeing and organising the maintenance, calibration, qualification and administration of instruments and equipment. Responsible for the introduction and commissioning of new equipment to the laboratory including computer systems validation, IQ, OQ and PQ.
Main Tasks/Activities:
- Lead the commissioning and qualification of new equipment.
- Responsible for computer systems validation (CSV) with support from CSV teams within Norbrook.
- Coordinate and perform the qualification, preventative maintenance, back-ups (where applicable) and arrange the repair of laboratory equipment and systems to ensure all equipment and records are maintained in accordance with cGMP and GLP policies and procedures.
- Preparation of Standard Operating Procedures and Risk assessments required for laboratory equipment and computerised systems.
- Responsible for the processing of purchase orders in accordance with company policy and tracking to ensure on-time delivery, goods are of appropriate technical specification and to ensure all required associated records are available.
- Source and work with contractors for external testing and calibration and coordinate requests for use of such services.
- Manage vendors and contractors while on site.
- Quotations from suppliers/contractors for equipment and service contracts in conjunction with the purchasing department to ensure fit for purpose.
- Source and evaluate new equipment and technology, which could improve the efficiency of the R&D laboratories.
- Other duties as requested by management.
Essential Criteria:
- Knowledge of laboratory systems and equipment qualification (DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ).
- At least two years' experience working within a regulated Laboratory environment.
- Experience troubleshooting issues relating to analytical laboratory equipment and systems.
- High level of competency in numeracy and excellent IT skills, in particular MS Excel, Word.
- Excellent organisational, planning, motivational and communication skills.
- Keen interest to learn and develop within the role.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in managing contractors in relation to identifying and communicating key company system requirements.
- Previous experience managing contractors as well as ordering laboratory equipment and related consumables.
- Knowledge or previous experience in Computerised System Validation (CSV).
- Previous experience in COSHH and Risk Assessments.
- A working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice and Good Manufacturing Practice.
