The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.
We currently require a new Syrup Room Operator to join our Norbev team to work alongside production, on shift proactively performing technical and operational duties to ensure customer orders are fulfilled while also ensuring the highest standard of food safety and quality. As part of this role there will be daily elements that require physical activity, lifting 25 kilo bags, moving drums, climbing stairs etc. This role is 12 hour shifts rotational dayshift, nightshift and weekend working.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure ingredients are blended in accordance with the manufacturing instructions to form bulk syrup batches.
- Manual handling of materials is required.
- Testing and approval of all syrups in an accurate, timely manner and vigilantly for signs of impending problems, addressing any problems promptly to minimise downtime.
- Responsible for returning raw materials back to storage in an acceptable condition, including full traceability and usage details.
- Responsible for batch make-up and own time management to ensure batches are made in enough time to support production.
- Liaise with Syrup Room Lead when critical issues regarding product non-conformance, safety and/or production issues arise.
- Communicate in a respectful, professional and timely manner with Managers, work colleagues and wider team to maintain continuity of production and ensure a safe, efficient working environment for all.
- Carry out quality checks in accordance with laid down procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining documentation associated with operations and ensure that all monitoring systems required by the Company are completed accurately to ensure that filling conditions are checked in accordance with laid down quality procedures.
- Manage waste to ensure that wastage of product is kept to a minimum.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience in an operational role within a high-speed manufacturing industry.
- Previous experience working towards regulatory and customer standards.
- Must be physically fit and ability to lift 25 kilo bags safely.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic Maths skills.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience with batch make-up and following recipes to exact and precise instruction.
- Ability to adjust defective syrup batches using technical knowledge.
