NOQ helps event organisers and traders run faster transactions, simplify payouts, and access real-time insights.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Lead Mobile Developer to lead our mobile applications team and drive the technical direction of our mobile platforms. Our applications are built primarily in React Native and include Point of Sale (POS), Kitchen Display System (KDS), and Insight & Reporting apps used in production environments. This role combines hands-on technical leadership, architecture ownership, and team mentorship, working closely with product, backend, and design teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality mobile solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, development, and evolution of React Native mobile applications across POS, KDS, and Mobile reporting products.
  • Own technical decision-making for mobile platforms, ensuring performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Define and enforce best practices for mobile development, testing, CI/CD, and release management.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure high engineering standards across the team.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of mobile engineers, fostering a strong engineering culture.
  • Work closely with product managers, backend engineers, designers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Contribute to hiring decisions and onboarding of new engineers.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including leading teams or acting as a technical lead.
  • Extensive experience with React Native in production environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex, business-critical products at scale.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of mobile performance optimisation, offline-first architectures, and device integration.

Bonus Experience

  • Strong understanding of backend (Node.js) systems that support mobile applications.
  • Experience in event tech, hospitality, or payments sectors (we use Adyen).
  • Design experience (UI/UX sensibility, collaboration with designers, or hands-on design skills).
  • Experience with analytics, reporting dashboards, or insight-driven applications.

What We Offer

  • A key technical leadership role in a growing event-tech startup.
  • Opportunity to shape product direction and architecture.
  • Fast-paced environment with real ownership and autonomy.
  • Collaborative culture connecting product, operations, and engineering.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A pragmatic technical leader who can balance long-term architecture with short-term delivery.
  • Someone comfortable being hands-on while guiding others.
  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability for product quality.
  • Passion for building reliable, real-world mobile systems used daily in operational environments.
