These are 12 month secondments right at the heart of UK circular economy policy, working on end-of-life vehicles and tyre recycling within the Circular Economy Growth Plan Delivery Team. If you are keen to move from doing into shaping national policy - while still staying close to operational reality - one of these could be an excellent next step for you.
In this ELV-focused contract, you will act as the client’s subject matter expert on vehicle recycling systems, advising on dismantling, material recovery, and compliance mechanisms that genuinely work for industry. Sitting in the Circular Economy Growth Plan Delivery Team, you will translate your operational knowledge into policy proposals, shaping reforms that support net zero and a more sustainable transport system.
You will engage directly with OEMs, dismantlers, recyclers and regulators, crafting evidence-based recommendations for senior officials and ministers, and helping civil servants deepen their understanding of the ELV landscape and its practical challenges.
