We are partnering with a globally established specialty chemicals business operating across highly regulated markets, supporting customers with technical solutions that protect product integrity, ensure compliance, and optimise performance. With a strong international footprint and long-standing customer relationships, the business is now looking to appoint a Key Account Manager to support a critical business unit.
The Opportunity
This is a true Key Account Management role, not a pure new business position. You will take ownership of a portfolio of strategic, international customers, with a particular focus on Asia-Pacific markets, ensuring long-term value, stability, and commercial performance. The emphasis here is on depth over breadth:
- Strengthening existing relationships
- Driving margin and efficiency improvements
- Navigating logistics, packaging, and supply chain challenges
- Identifying sustainable growth within established accounts
This role suits someone who is commercially sharp, operationally aware, and comfortable working independently in a global environment.
Key Responsibilities
Account & Strategy Ownership
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key global customers and distributors
- Develop and execute structured account plans aligned with regional and company strategy
- Monitor account performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction
Commercial & Operational Delivery
- Identify opportunities to improve margin, efficiency, and commercial performance (e.g. logistics, packaging, supply optimisation)
- Lead customer communication across commercial and technical topics, including tenders, quotations, and issue resolution
- Manage contracts, forecasts, and reporting to ensure accuracy and visibility
Internal Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Technical and Sales teams to deliver a seamless customer experience
- Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring feedback is captured and acted upon
Market & Growth Contribution
- Support regional and customer strategies by identifying incremental opportunities within existing accounts
- Provide market intelligence and customer insight to support wider business decisions
Key requirements:
- Proven experience in Key Account Management within chemicals or technical B2B sectors
- Background in chemical sales, ideally within: Oil & Gas, Contract manufacturing, Surfactants / personal care / specialty chemicals
- Strong ability to operate independently, managing global customers with minimal oversight
- Experience working across international markets (APAC exposure beneficial)
- Willingness to travel globally (c.20–25%)
Preferred:
- Degree in Chemistry or a related technical discipline
- Additional language skills
Why This Role Stands Out
- Global remit with exposure to key international markets
- A business built on long-term customer relationships, not transactional sales
- Opportunity to influence commercial performance beyond revenue (margin, efficiency, supply chain)
- High level of autonomy and trust
- Stable, well-established organisation with a strong reputation in regulated industries
