NonStop Care are working with a Good Ofsted-rated Local Authority that is looking to appoint a permanent, full-time Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join their Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service. As an Independent Reviewing Officer, you will be responsible for chairing statutory reviews for children in care, monitoring care planning, and quality assuring practice across Children's Services. You will work closely with social workers, managers, carers, and partner agencies, providing professional challenge where necessary to ensure that care planning and service delivery consistently meets the needs of children and young people.
The role forms part of a wider Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service and plays a key role in driving high standards of practice, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met, and promoting positive outcomes for children in care. This is a hybrid position, offering a balance between home and office working, with a minimum of 2 days per week required in the office.

Requirements:
- To be shortlisted for this position, you must be able to work in the UK, hold a recognised Social Work qualification, be registered with Social Work England, and have successfully completed your ASYE.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years' post-qualified social work experience, with substantial experience working within Child Protection and/or Children Looked After Services.
- You will have significant knowledge and experience of:
- Family Court and Public Law Outline (PLO) processes
- Care planning for children in care
- Safeguarding children and promoting positive outcomes
- Quality assurance and performance monitoring
- Supervising, supporting, or managing social workers
- Multi-agency working and professional challenge
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential.
