NonStop Care is seeking a compassionate, resilient, and motivated Deputy Manager to support the running of a new 3-bed residential children's home for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in West London.

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to lead a dedicated team of support workers. You will play a vital role in ensuring the emotional, social, and physical well-being of the young people in our care, while maintaining high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that each young person has an allocated key worker
  • Ensuring that each member of staff is aware of each child's relevant plans and their responsibilities for its implementation
  • Carrying out the role of 'on-call manager' to provide OOH support for the home, on a rota basis
  • Attending childcare reviews and planning meetings to provide information and achieve best outcomes for young people
  • Undertaking direct work with young people and acting as an appropriate role model
  • Assisting in developing systems in which young people are consulted about the quality of care they receive
  • Maintaining accurate written records to record information and enable regular monitoring and evaluation to take place
  • Working in partnership with parents, carers and other professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people
  • Chairing children's meetings and facilitating consultation with young people generally
  • Acting as an appropriate adult

Requirements:

  • Secondary education with a good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Diploma L3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Willingness to complete Diploma L5 L&M in H&SC
  • Knowledge of CHR 2015 and the QS
  • Awareness of Equal Opportunities/ADP issues
  • Knowledge of the Children Act and other relevant legislation
  • Team-building skills
  • Supervision skills
  • Ability to manage teams effectively
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Understanding the needs of looked-after children including managing challenging behaviour
