Are you a Speech & Language Therapist looking for an opportunity to broaden your specialist experience while helping children reach their full communication potential? I'm working with a leading specialist charity that provides integrated education and therapy services for children and young people with cerebral palsy, motor disorders and associated communication needs. They are looking to appoint a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to become part of their established clinical team in Aylesbury.

This position offers the chance to work in a unique setting where therapy is embedded throughout the school day. You'll play a key role in supporting children to develop their communication, independence and participation, while working alongside a range of experienced professionals in an integrated model of care.

Whether you're an experienced Band 5 ready to take the next step or a Band 6 looking for a fresh challenge, this role offers excellent opportunities to expand your clinical knowledge within a highly specialist environment.

Key Responsibilities - Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist

  • Complete specialist assessments to identify children's speech, language and communication needs.
  • Design, implement and review personalised therapy programmes tailored to individual goals.
  • Support children using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), including communication books, signing and electronic communication aids.
  • Deliver dysphagia assessment and management in line with your clinical competencies.
  • Work alongside Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Teachers and other specialists to deliver integrated therapy programmes.
  • Provide guidance and practical strategies to parents, carers and education staff to promote communication across everyday environments.
  • Produce detailed reports, maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to multidisciplinary planning.

You'll be:

  • HCPC registered and a member of the RCSLT.
  • Qualified in Speech & Language Therapy with experience working with children.
  • Enthusiastic about supporting children with complex physical and communication needs.
  • Interested in developing specialist skills within paediatric rehabilitation.
  • A proactive clinician with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills who enjoys working as part of an integrated team.
