NonStop Consulting is working with a specialist Family Assessment Centre with a Good Ofsted rating, to assist them in finding an experienced Assessing Social Worker. This is a unique opportunity to join a small, supportive service providing residential parenting assessments for families with complex needs. You will have a maximum caseload of just 3 families at a time, allowing you to work closely with children and parents and complete thorough, high-quality assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

The Assessing Social Worker will complete robust parenting assessments while working directly with children and their parents throughout their placement. You will supervise Family Support Workers, work alongside Social Work Assistants to gather evidence for assessments, monitor families' progress and contribute to formal review meetings. You will also ensure safeguarding remains central to the assessment process and work closely with local authorities and other professionals.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with at least 2 years' post-qualified experience
  • Recent frontline Children's Social Work / Child Protection experience
  • Recent court experience
  • Experience completing parenting assessments is essential
  • Strong assessment and report-writing skills
