Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people? Do you have the drive to support and develop foster carers to provide safe, nurturing homes? A vacancy has arisen for an Experienced Supervising Social Worker to join the Fostering Team with a Good Ofsted local authority in the South.

In the role of Supervising Social Worker you will ensure that the fostering team delivers a high quality service to Foster Carers. You will provide support, supervision and training for foster carers to provide a safe and secure environment for the children and young people of the area.

What you'll do:

  • Provide high-quality supervision and support to foster carers
  • Undertake regular visits and assessments to ensure safe, stable placements
  • Contribute to foster carer recruitment, training, and retention
  • Work collaboratively with children's social workers, schools, and health professionals
  • Keep comprehensive and timely records in line with statutory requirements

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent) and registered with Social Work England
  • Experience in fostering, children's social care, or related services
  • Strong communication, assessment, and report-writing skills
  • A reflective practitioner who values teamwork and continuous improvement
  • Flexibility to travel for visits and to work occasional evenings/weekends as needed
