Qualification Requirements
This vacancy is for students who have completed at least 2 years in one of the following degrees: Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, or similar.

Location
208 Bath Rd, Slough SL1 3WE until approximately August 2026, then moving to Sunninghill Road, Windlesham, Surrey, GU20 6PP. UCB offers hybrid working options.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. Flexible hours from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm core hours, with the remaining time made up on either side.
Duration and Start Date
1-year contract starting 1st September 2025.

Job Description
UCB seeks motivated scientists to join the BioTech Sciences department at its UK R&D hub in Slough. You will work within Upstream Process Sciences, developing processes for protein therapeutics, utilizing advanced scientific technologies, and receiving comprehensive training with mentorship. Your responsibilities include laboratory activities, process development, troubleshooting, and data analysis, adhering to health and safety guidelines. You will collaborate with process and analytical scientists, utilizing biochemical and chemical engineering knowledge to support clinical projects, process scaling, and technology transfer. The role involves experimentation with bioreactors, applying Quality by Design principles, and documenting work for regulatory purposes. The position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative research and process improvements in a leading pharmaceutical environment.
