Job Overview

Chef position responsible for managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring food quality while maintaining safety and inventory accuracy. Work must be completed at the physical location and remote work is not available.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items
  • Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
  • Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers
  • Recruit and hire staff
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Create new recipes
  • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
  • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
  • Supervise a staff of more than 20 people
  • Establish or implement policies and procedures for staff

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3 to less than 5 years experience as a chef or in a similar kitchen role
  • Experience supervising a team of greater than 20 staff members
  • International culinary experience
