We’re an employee-owned company based in Birmingham in our 11th year of helping patients find cancer simply, quickly and accurately.

We research, design and manufacture all products from our Quinton HQ, having supplied over 50 million test kits to dozens of NHS sites, every major UK private healthcare group and exporting to 38 countries worldwide.

We’re looking for talented and driven people to help us achieve our vision of everyone on earth having access to simple, fast and accurate non‑invasive cancer testing.

Role purpose

Attract, hire, onboard and develop exceptional people to drive the next phase of our growth.

The role will own the full talent journey, from assessing whether a new hire is genuinely needed through to recruitment, onboarding, development and progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hiring
  • Standardise the hiring process across all functions including clear role requirements, success measures and assessment criteria.
  • Create effective ways to assess whether candidates share our cultural values and will strengthen the company.
  • Build our reputation as a place talented people want to join.
  • Train and support hiring managers to recruit well.
  • Onboarding
  • Build and own a consistent onboarding process for all employees, combining standard company‑wide onboarding with role‑specific content to give new employees what they need to succeed.
  • Equip line managers to onboard new team members effectively.
  • Embed Nonacus’s values and ways of working from the outset.
  • Development and training
  • Create and maintain a clear development plan for every employee, defining likely next roles with detail on responsibilities, expected outcomes, capability requirements and compensation ranges.
  • Build practical development pathways that show employees what they need to demonstrate to progress to their next stage.
  • Support managers to hold regular and honest development conversations that strengthen both management capability and succession planning.
  • Identify training needs across the business and build suitable programmes.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Experience leading talent acquisition, onboarding, learning and employee development in a scale‑up environment.
  • A track record of building practical people processes in a growing organisation.
  • Experience training and coaching hiring managers and line managers.
  • Confidence challenging senior leaders constructively.
  • A commercial, outcomes‑focused approach with minimal unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Experience in life sciences, healthcare or another technical or regulated environment would be advantageous.

Compensation

  • Base salary between £40,000 - £50,000 depending on seniority.
  • 3% company pension contribution, rising to 7% after 3 years’ service.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Equity in Nonacus, via EMI options.
