As a Senior Officer in the Lending Operations team, your focus will be on the Documentation process rather than Lending Administration. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing draft documents (both Bilateral and Syndicated, as a participating lender) and ensuring that the operational terms are acceptable, including Sanctions clauses and other agreement terms that meet the bank’s requirements. You will be required to seek internal approvals and manage interactions with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will oversee the execution of documents and the completion of the Conditions Precedent (CP) process. Other duties will include ongoing documentation responsibilities, such as handling waiver requests, consent requests, extension requests, and secondary trades.

What will your day look like? You will interact with customers, agents, and internal stakeholders, coordinating among the Group Capability and/or in-country teams to deliver loan fulfillment and life cycle management services. Your main accountabilities will include:

  • Reviewing draft facility agreements, legal opinions, transfer agreements, and amendments, providing comments to stakeholders.
  • Coordinating documentation with customers, agent banks, and internal legal, frontline business areas, financial crime, and credit risk.
  • Managing ad hoc documentation-related queries from internal stakeholders, borrowers, and agents.
  • Controlling the execution and signing and completion of the documentation and the Condition Precedent (CP) satisfaction stage, ensuring that documentation complies with the firm’s internal approvals/exception sign-offs and any other requirements.
  • Lodging collateral documentation in the bank's system.
  • Managing external legal invoicing.

What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Experience in preparing (reviewing, drafting), facilitating, and managing new and ongoing facility documentation.
  • Trade and loan facility documentation with good product familiarity and structuring awareness.
  • Excellent knowledge of industry standards relating to documentation and credit practices, including extensive knowledge and understanding of Loan Market Association (LMA) facility documentation.
  • Understanding of the operational process and mechanics of loan processing.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with an ability to interface and, if necessary, negotiate with clients (their operational teams, relationship, and deal team members).
  • Ability to manage priorities and conflicting issues in a professional manner and interface with relevant stakeholders (i.e., RMs, Credit Risk, Legal).
  • Self-motivated (proactive) with strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Loan IQ.
