CASS Operations Specialist

Our client, a respected and growing investment management firm , is looking to appoint an experienced CASS Operations Specialist to join their operations team. This is a key role within the business, responsible for ensuring the integrity of client money and custody records while maintaining full compliance with FCA CASS regulations .

This opportunity would suit a technically strong CASS professional who enjoys working in a controlled regulatory environment while also identifying ways to improve processes and operational efficiency.

The Role

You will play a central role in the day-to-day management of CASS operations , ensuring reconciliations, controls, and reporting obligations are completed accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing daily internal and external client money reconciliations in line with CASS requirements.
  • Conducting custody internal record checks and external custody reconciliations .
  • Managing external custodian bank reconciliations , investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Ensuring strong CASS controls, governance frameworks, and operational procedures are maintained.
  • Supporting internal and external audits as well as regulatory reviews.
  • Investigating CASS breaches , identifying root causes, and implementing preventative controls.
  • Overseeing allotments and share reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy and strong operational control.
  • Providing oversight and support within the team, including one direct report .
  • Identifying opportunities to improve operational processes , including the use of automation and emerging technologies.
Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have:

  • 4+ years’ experience in a CASS operations environment .
  • A strong understanding of client money rules, custody assets, and FCA regulatory requirements .
  • Experience managing external custodian reconciliations .
  • A CASS qualification or relevant accreditation , such as the CISI Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) .
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • A proactive mindset and interest in improving operational processes and efficiencies .
